Diabetes UK recently received praise (available here) from the National Diabetes Inpatient Audit for its role in encouraging hospitals to provide specialist diabetic foot care.
Diabetes is associated with a range of serious foot conditions, and almost all of them are easily preventable by taking good care of our feet. Specialist hospital units do amazing work in treating foot problems when they have developed into limb and life threatening conditions. However, regular podiatry care can prevent these conditions developing at all.
